In Mississippi, the nurse who leads staff education and training is commonly known as a Nurse aide training program instructor / facility in-service coordinator. It’s a valued, higher-responsibility role — and we can help you prepare for it and grow your long-term-care career.

Mississippi has no distinct staff-development-director credential. Nurse aide training programs are approved by the Mississippi State Department of Health (Health Facilities Licensure and Certification), and the instructor requirement is the federal one — training under the general supervision of an RN with >=2 years' experience, >=1 year in long-term care (42 CFR 483.152). Annual in-service follows the federal 12-hour floor; the '8 hours every 24 months' figure often quoted is a registry-active (paid-work) requirement, not in-service education. A nurse takes on the role simply by being the RN the facility designates for its MSDH-approved program — there is no separate state approval to apply for. (Confidence is medium because the exact MSDH rule text for instructor qualifications could not be pulled directly; the federal floor governs regardless.)
